Title: Sendmail with LDAP

Hi Grp,
I need ur help....
I have 2 servers....
First is an   sendmail server  &  second is an LDAP server ..., Both servers are running properly.....
Now i want to configure LDAP with sendmail ,... By default when u use sendmail server then u can send mail to local users on sendmail servers , means basically that server provide authentication.., but now my question is i want to authnticate  Sendmail users not locally but from LDAP server.....???

I serched many sites there it was written that  u have to change only sendmail.mc file..., there u have to give entry liike this

LDAPROUTE_DOMAIN('mysite.com')dnl  { where mysite.com is my domain }
FEATURE(`ldap_routing')dnl


But i have given above entries & configured it .............. but cant authincate .....


if anyone knows about,how to configure  this, then Plz help me?????????

Hi grp,
Now i am able to configure Sendmail using LDAP server myself....
If anybody want to know can ask me..................

but still i have a problem......

Actually now i am able to do authincation throug LDAP server ,,,,, but the local users can also authinticate means now local users as  welll as LDAP users can send mails but now my question is how can i disable local authntication ....... &  enable authtication only through LDAP???
If anyone knows can tell me plzz....

U r using FC rite?

Well, use the easy tool, at shell, type "setup"

Change the "Authentication configuration" options to match ur needs.

But, be careful coz, if ur option wrong, i will screw up ur login as u will not be able to login as normal user.

As good things is make sure u know ur root password for LDAP, just in case.

Hi dragoncity
I think u r not clear what i m saying..., as i already told u that LDAP server as well as client is working fine...., the things u told me , i already configured in client side..,my client is able to Authnticate through LDAP  with  no problem at all,
But now i want that my sendmail users take authntication  from LDAP server...means NORMAL Sendmail users can't receive as well as send mails...., they take authentication FROM LDAP SRVER.....

i want  to configure SENDMAIL USING LDAP AUTHENTICATION....
i want to configure my SENDMAIL SERVER NOT LDAP??

& 1 thing more i m using REDHAT LINUX 9 not FC


Read my previous question again .......then  tell me...
