To configure linux proxy server, go:
Squid Proxy (http://www.linuxsolved.com/forums/ftopic116.html)

To configre a mail server, please make sure what type of mail server  u wish to build.? Is the mail server using sendmail/qmail/etc....

i am still not able to understand the major differences between sendmail & qmail , or any other Mail server.. can you help..

i was trying to use sendmail, also if you can brief me with the differences..
