Post by: sathish on October 12, 2004, 05:37:52 PM
Hello All!!!!

I have installed vsftp server, and also created users and added to the particular groups. I have disabled anonymous users to login.

If i login through windows from ms-dos mode to the ftp server,
itz working fine i am able to login to particular users.. now if change the directories.. itz changing and going upto the root level...
i am able to see the directories like
root
etc
tmp
usr
home
bin ...................

all the directories of the linux system.. which i don't want to go upto that root level.... it should be permitted upto to the user directories. How todo this ?? My distro is redhat9.0.

Plz help me ....

Thanks

Sathish.

try to log in using normal user .. and it do have bin home etc but only restricted to particular user account.  Check if they have actual linux system files or not!

Hi Ricky !!

No I am not logged in as root. I have logged in as the users which i have created to the ftp site.

Any solution how to ban the entry upto root level.

Thanks
