Hi i have a problem. Theres a office who just fired their system operator. the prob is this the guy is not telling the password for the linux operating system. As i never uses it so can any one help me in this regard. and is there any chances of data loss if it was not correctly done :shock: :shock:

Hmmm...
U can do this by booting ur System in single user mode i.e at boot menu just select "RED HAT" and edit the line by pressing 'e' at highlighted choice(RED HAT) and add the string init 1 at the end ..after that press 'b' , it will bot the system in Single user mode ......after that it doesn't ask for the password .....it just display the shell prompt..just give command 'passwd' and give new password to root user ....
