How to do telnet with linux machine from windows , openssh ?
« on: March 23, 2004, 07:46:31 AM »
Hi..
I have just installed linux.. Now can anyone tell me how i can do telnet with linux machine from windows ?

I tried ..
Code: [Select]
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>telnet 192.168.0.1
Connecting To 192.168.0.1...Could not open a connection to host on port 23 : Connect failed

Is it anything related to openssh .. ? if so how do implement openssh in my linux box ?
BTW.. is openssh and telnet are different or same ?

Thank you!

No, u cannot telnet using commands just like that. Telnet is totally not secure in transferring data between the client and the server. U use tools such as PUTTY or or any other win32 remote login tool to do so.
