How to block trillian using squid? Should that be done through the useragent option during compilation? If so after compilation what modifications should be made on squid configuration.

you can easily block it by blocking the ports it use .. , to do so you have to edit squid.conf and block the port used by trillian !

Default Ports:
The default ports that Trillian uses:
MSN
Connection: 1863
File Transfer: 6891
ICQ
Connection: 5190
File Transfer: Dynamic unless specified
AIM
Connection: 5190
File Transfer: 5190
Yahoo
Connection: 5050
File Transfer: 80
The rule can be wrritten to block the above mentioned ports......
But if I want only certain users to allow trillian and others to block then what to be done...
