R u sure u can mount the NTFS filesystem in Rescue mode? In the first place, if u r in Rescue mode, u r using the installation CDsl which most of the time i dont think have kernel compiled with NTFS support.
Please check, u can check by the fs support by:
1. ls /lib/modules/kernel-version/... (... here means look for filesystem directory, where u will find NTFS module if exist).
If step one fails
2. Step 2 is u manually mount it, i must tell u that, most of the time this is not safe. I do hope u know wat u r doing. On the console type:
localhost# mount ro -t ntfs /dev/ntfspartition /directory
Hope that helps.
One more thing is, if u do want to mount ntfs out of ur live LINUX on harddis, do consider using LIVE CDs like:
1. Knoppix
2. Ubuntu
3. Linspire
4. SysRescueCD
