Linux distribution
« on: December 14, 2007, 12:33:31 AM »
I am doing a research paper and I am a brand new user to the Linux environment. I need to find the answers to a couple of questions.
(1) What are the eight major hardware components that must be considered when choosing and installing a Linux distribution?

(2) Which commands would a user use to switch the default graphical desktop to KDE and to GNOME?

I appreciate anyones help with this information.

Answer1 : There is no more issue like hardware compatibility with linux, now almost all hardware vendors are including linux drivers. Though , still internal win modem, some USB devices including cameras, mobiles etc. rest.. I don't think that can be affected as Linux do not support..

Answer 2: Simplest way is to choose KDE or Gnome in when you login!
