Windows Vista wants to be first on the primary hard drive.
How do you install Linux with Vista present?
I have a secondary hard drive also, with some unpartitioned space on it.
Does that make it easier?

Installing linux is pretty easy. Just during installation tell it where it should be installed. If any doubts or problem. Ask here
