Wireless card not recognized in linux-Compaq WL110

Dear future helper,
this is probably one of the problems you are tired of - wireless card not working.
I am a beginner to linux word. My ancient Hardware and relatively recent Software: Compaq WL110, Gateway Solo 2550, Linpus system.
 Any idea?

Which distribution you are using..
Also if hardware is comparatively older then there are better chances to get it working without problem.
