I have made several attempts to install SLES 9 and 10, backtrack III, ubuntu, and dabian on my Sony Vaio VGN-SZ650N computer.  For some reason the software thinks that I have a 64 bit machine?...

Each time the install will fail.  Please advise, this is my first post....

Because it is 64 bit ie. core 2 duo is 64 bit processor.

What error you get while install ?

You can simply install any 32bit version too. ie . i386 or i686
