installation of media player in linux

i want to install vlc media player on rhel5
please help me to get apropriate package and how
to install it

Never used that.
From the search it looks like the existing package of vlc is buggy and  you need to try hard to install it. I don't have RHEL configured co can't try. Anyways check this link , hope it helps
