File updation problem in Samba

Hi ! Need your expert advice on the following problem:-
I have Samba server having shared folder on RHEL 5 . The sharing seems to be okay as we are able to see the files in shared folder of Linux server on the windows XP workstation.
Ours is a web application which fetches files from this samba shared folder through web interface at windows clients.
We are able to fetch/open the files but can not modify the same as the modified file can not be saved directly but has to be saved with a different name. But we can not change the name of modified file every time -- means the modified/updated file must get saved with the same name in the shared folder at Linux Samba server.
Please help in resolving the issue.
Thanks in Advance
