VNC help I need to vnc to the main desktop of my linux computers

I have two linux computers connected to a projector each and I need to be able to VNC to the main desktop of each of them. When I vnc to them now I get connected but the desktop I see is not what is on the projectors. I get a different X session.
 They are not connected to the internet.
