PCQ Linux 2004 not installing on Priya KOB 810e2 intel chip
« on: December 01, 2004, 05:36:39 PM »
Hi linux community !! :D

I am using a 10 gb hdd which is partitioned as 3gb and 7gb .

When I try to install pcqlinux 2004 on my 7 gb partition , it first passes my cd test ,and then says that all the resources are ok.
Now the automatic partition manager swaps my 7gb partition and prepares for the installation, asks me as to what all components I require. I checked in developer workstation and checked in most of the features that It offered.

The installation continues. The progress bar (while it begins to start copying required files) never begins. But I can sense a good movement of the mouse and mouse shows a busy icon.

This continues for a very long time and nothing happens from then on….

Can any one help me out???

My configuration is
Celeron 500 Mhz
KOB (priya) 810e2 TFST motherboard (USB 1.1 enabled) intel chipset
10 Gb Hdd (Seagate)
and 128 mb sdram

This is probably due to slow lesser computer resources.

In my opinion you try to increase your RAM.

I had same problem with one of comptur year ago. (it was celeron 733, 96 mb RAM) I had to try a lot.. but only after increasing RAM it got installed (RH 7.3)

hope yours can be also solved like that! btw chose swap partition of atleast 500 mb !
