which vmware to use on linux

hay i am new to linux... i need little help...i wanna use VMware in linux. my quistion is wat type of VM waer i should use coz there are many like wmware 4.0 or vmware workstation, etc etc... secondly..i want 2003 server to be installed in VMware so i can make network ,betwen my linux and server 2003 and vise versa .... just learning networking .... ..one more thing should i have to make some seperate partition  for 2003 server as i have installed linux redhat9 and it work over swap space...OR i just install 2003 server thru VMware in swap space area.... You can go for VMware workstation, its simple, you just need a lot of space on any of the partition on your hd under linux. It (vmware) will create sort of image on that of the client OS.
