Proxy that reduces File Sizes?
« on: September 26, 2005, 12:31:07 PM »
Hi,

is there any way to downsample or compress images? I want to dial into my own DSL line with my mobile phone. Since my GSM connection is very slow, I would like to sacrifice some visual quality for speed.

Is there any software that can do this? Or can I have a proxy route JPGs through another program?

Thanks for your suggestions!

Fl

Hi Ricky,

thanks for your reply. Woffle sure looks like a great thing that makes sense in my project. But it still will not help me reduce images in size, or will it?

Hmm..reducing image size, yes it does, it reduces image quality by increasing compression hence reducing its size.
You should look its home page, do a search over internet.
