Hi

I am new to Linux and would like some help with Squid. I am using Suse 10 which comes with Squid installed. I have used Rickys How To's to get squid.conf setup as a Transparent proxy. This all working OK but I am now trying to enable Delay Pools but I am unable to see if it is working Ok. Can someone Please help me to check if Squid is compiled with the delay Pools enabled first of all. I have tried to check with some of the commands but I can not get them to even work.

well,
I want to commit that I no more remember delay pool clearly.

Though I checked delay pool myself first time by making a tight rule in which when a file of few kB say.. 100 kB is downloaded then its downloading speed get limited to 2 kbps ...
So that way I got that its there.

So far I have seen that most of the binaries of squid are compiled with delay pools support.

Thanks for the reply. Just one further question, in the delay pools section of the squid.conf file do I have to have a furter ACL command that it will refer to or can I use a certain ACL from higher up that refers to a certain user connected to a Ip address.
In other words must I repeat the Defining ACL for Delay pools?

Just use webmin tool to make acl for delaypools...
Its a graphical tool , u can easily use this...........

YOu can also use a acl created for other need but its better to use particular acls specifically created for delay pool operations.

Well., you can try webmin.. it will be so easy then.

It is GUI tool to configure and administrator linux services Just download webmin rpm for any of the sites http://rpm.pbone.net for your specific distrubution and install it. it works on the port 10000. so give url http://<your Ip Addres>:10000 to access the tool
