I m using Red hat enterprise linux 5. I am a beginer. I m unable to connect my net. Plz anybody if he can help me.

Here is sachin asked me via PM

i used ur way to connect then at console it is shwing some kind of connection but net is web pages are not opened. i mean m not able to check whether my net is connected or not. plz help me..

Well sachin, you can reply here too.. anyways..

to verify if you are connected, you can check via :
"ifconfig"

If it shows something about ppp0 then you are connected.

Now you may need to add domain name server address to /etc/resolv.conf
ie.
