DHCP or not

i installed my ubuntu server 9.04 and it seems okay, i need to set up my server with two nics (which i have done) i need help on configuring the second nic eth1 to receive internet traffic from my adsl modem ethernet port and link or bridge it with eth0 so that it will then be a gateway for my local area network users.
